👟 Wild study is now a challenge

Reader, if I told you a way to drop your chance of dying — from literally anything — by 12%, would you donate a quarter to the clinic?

What if it could drop your chances another 12% on top of the first if you did it again?

And again?

Would you give a quarter, just $0.25, for that …each time?

Of course you would.

If it were me, I’d back up the Brinks truck with every quarter I had. 😆

I came across a study that really shocked me, and it apparently shocked the researchers themselves…

They found that if a person takes just 1,000 more steps per day, it can lower their risk of dying from all causes by 12%. (PMID: 34417979)

That’s wild to me. And incredibly powerful.

And it’s why we’re launching Steps for Care a challenge that turns a healthy habit into care for those who need it most.

It’s only $25 to join, and it goes like this:

  • You walk/run your usual routine
  • We track our steps together in a simple, fun app
  • You pledge at least $0.25 per 1,000 steps for those in need

And you don’t even need to make good on it until the end of the challenge.

No pressure on mileage.

Just small steps + purpose = big change.

But it gets much more interesting:

Steps for Care runs from July 1st - 31st.

And collectively, we’re aiming for 8 million steps!

(Also, there may just be a surprise for us all if we hit it. 🤐)

However, we can’t do it without you and our community of supporters.

I’m pledging 10,000 steps per day (310,000 by the 31st).

Dr. Jubril, Shimuna, Nurse Katherine — they’re all in it.

Can we count on you to help bring us closer to 8 million steps?

It’s simple.

Your daily steps become a catalyst for real benefit to not just your health, but someone else’s.

If you’ve ever thought…
“What can I actually do?”this is it.

We kick off tomorrow morning. 👟 And steps do not count retroactively if you join late. So the sooner you join, the greater your impact will be.

Let’s step toward better health together.

See you inside,
